Brewing news Czech Republic: The expenditures of breweries on advertising decreased by 12% in 2005

According to the Business Bulletin, the expenditures of breweries on advertising decreased in Czech Republic by 12% to CEK 805 mil in 2005 compared to 2004.

Czech breweries spent over CEK 900 mil on advertising in 2004, nearly five-times more compared to 1997. The numbers do not include billboard advertising. Television advertising represented 91% of the total expenditures of breweries on advertising in 2005, roughly CEK 733 mil. Shares in other media decreased.

About 2.6% of the total expenditures of breweries on advertising were represented by press advertising, CEK 22.6 mil, 2.6% by magazine advertising, CEK 21 mil, 2% by cinema advertising and 2% by radio advertising.

According to ARBOmedia, the total expenditures of firms on advertising were about CEK 17.765 bil in 2005 and should exceed CEK 18 bil in 2006.
